By Method2Madness "Alex" I've had this unit for a little over 2 weeks now and have given it a full, and I mean FULL workout. I've printed a whole ream of 28lb paper with various text, graphics, etc, along with 20 or so color photos on laserjet photo paper and continue to be impressed with the output. I have made all sorts of copies and sent/received probably 10 faxes (through MagicJack, no less!), as well. All with only one issue.... That dang annoying paper curl. This thing just loves to curl the paper, no matter what type of paper, no matter what type of printing. There is even a setting in the setup menu on the unit, called "Reduce Paper Curl", which supposedly reduces the fuser heat, but it makes no difference. The GOOD news is, it's replaceable under warranty! I spent a bit on the phone with HP Business Support (VERY IMPORTANT! You MUST call Business Support@800-334-5144! HP "Total Care" knows nothing about this printer and will just keep transferring you back into their same queue over and over); and was informed that there were an early batch of these units sent out with fusers that were out of spec The way to tell which fuser you have is to open the back access panel and look at the foam rollers. Supposedly the "new" fusers have orange rollers, and the bad ones(like mine) have black foam rollers. Another good piece of news is, these come with a standard next day, on-site warranty. I have a tech coming out tomorrow to replace said bad fuser assembly. The Business Support agent I spoke with, while clearly not American, was MUCH more knowledgeable and willing to help than the standard Total Care agents. I could also understand him better. In the end, an extremely frustrating experience with the non-business support group, ended up morphing into a somewhat pleasant resolution I will update the review notes with the outcome tomorrow once I have the unit replaced. I know I won't be able to change the star rating, but even with the curl issue, it's still a solid 3.5-4 stars. Especially considering there are later models released without the curl issue. ***UPDATE #1*** They are over-nighting the fuser assembly to me and the tech will be here between 10 and 4 to install it. The on-site tech just called and said that if I was so inclined, I could try the swap myself, or if it's more than I care to delve into, then he'd be happy to come do the swap. I'll check and see once it gets here tomorrow. ***FINAL UPDATE*** Unfortunately, the new fuser did not completely rectify the paper curl problem. It did appear to lessen the curl a bit, however. But, I guess Ill live with it. I will note, the on-site HP tech was wonderful! He was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional and was very apologetic that the fuser swap did not fix the problem We even spent a bit, looking into the paper path, to see if the rollers were causing the curl issue and not so much the fuser. It wasnt, by the way. If it were the paper path, the curl would be in the opposite direction. He gave me his cell and said to give him a call if there's anything he can do to help out in the future. Short of the agonizing experience I spent initally with the Total Care helpdesk, this has been a very good experience. ***The FINAL, FINAL UPDATE*** ON a whim, I decided to go back into the menu and re-enable "Less Paper Curl" and that with the combination of the fuser replacement, has netted usable results. The page is still curled, but it's definitely not as bad as it was, pre-fuser change. 27 of 27 people found the following review helpful. Reasons why we would probably not buy again By BBB We purchased this product 4 months ago for our small office The main goal was to allow scanning directly to email so that we could send paperwork to remote staff easily. That functionality in this printer is very good. Then, there are some issues that could cause us to.

Solnik for a non-commercial grade machine, it definitely meets my expectations. it prints and copies quickly enough and the quality is absolutely fine. the energy saver mode keeps the machine quiet when not in use. it's easy to use, and it's nice having all the multifunctions in one unit. fyi, i initially had problems because my usb cable was ten feet long. the user manual does not warn of problems with long cables, but canon's fast and knowledgeable tech support folks solved that for me quickly. i'm a little annoyed that i must specify in the print dialogue box each time i want to use the manual feeder (aka multi purpose tray); the machine does not automatically detect paper in the manual feeder and print from it unless i first specify manual paper tray in my print dialogue box. it's nice to have the printer and fax available to my entire network via the cat 5 cable, but unless i'm mistaken, the only way to scan to your computer is through the usb cable, which meant that after installing the network drivers i installed the usb drivers and now have a confusing number of drivers in my print dialogue box drop down menu i probably can remove the network drivers from the one computer that's connected via the usb, but i haven't tried that yet, and i wish the setup instructions made that clearer. also, the scans initially were coming out unacceptably faint until (again with the help of tech support) i lowered the scan resolution setting and changed from black-and-white to grayscale. the fax interface is a little annoying in that i can't access fax numbers from my outlook contacts and if i add an address to the canon fax address book there does not appear to be a way to delete it. overall, the machine is easy to use and performs with excellent quality. i am not disappointed 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Better than the sum of its parts By Jesse Liberty This is the first multi-purpose printer/fax/scan that isn't a combination of cheap imitations of all three. The printer is really very good, fairly fast, and easily handles creating two sided output. The scanner is the best I've had, the feeder and all of the mechanics are solid and reliable, and once set up it has exceeded expectations. 18 of 22 people found the following review helpful. ImageClass D1150 disappoints By Bflo George We liked our Canon ImageClass D780 a lot, but after 5 years it needed repairs expensive enough to prompt us to replace it. The cost of the D1150 was about the same retail price as the D780 but doesn't compare. Biggest complaint: you can't fax manually to more than one number at a time. The only way to send to multiple destinations is to create an entry and give it a name and number. We fax to mostly new destinations, so that option is an unacceptable time waster Another annoyance: it wrinkles the edge of our envelopes, and the envelope holder holds a smaller stack than the older machine. The output tray is situated such that it's hard to see if there is anything in it unless you're very close. These are the things we don't like so far. We've had the D1150 for only a month and wish we could send it back. I will say that it's faster than the old multifunction, but I'd trade that small increase in speed in a second for the functionality and user-friendliness of the D780.Canon imageCLASS D1150 Laser Multifunction Copier (3478B005AA) See all 14 customer reviews....

I need just a network printer, so that my children could print the information for its laptops and desktop computers can use the printer. What Canon is hiding very well is that this model does not address or a network: a network is printed, but it will not scan to a. So, if you configure it to allow the printing of several machines that anyone can find him or her, the scanner is disabled. The scanner will only work when the machine is connected to one (and only) computer. Therefore, you can scan / print in a printing press or a network, but not so much. It is almost incomprehensible to me that a reputable company like Canon would do something so stupid. Save the box because you do not know the limits of this printer before installing the drivers and put it otherwise, the printer is short and solid and well designed software. 35 of 41 people found this review helpful. Canon takes! From Canon image class D1120 Puput multifunction laser copier (3478B001AA) We used the Canon for about 6 years older and was very satisfied with his performance. So the top of the scanner broke, so we tried a newer model from Canon - it fits perfectly in private practice. And 'scans, copies, faxes, interacts with the network, you name it ... Now if only the retailers had more ink, which would be the end of the problem. Yes, the ink is expensive, but check the bearing number of copies that can produce! It is worth all this. So if you are looking for a reliable office copier multitasking is not going well. I highly recommend. Oh, by the way, we are still using the old machine - for print jobs. 18 of 20 people found the following review useful network scanning Diva NO sound I am very disappointed with this machine. If you only need one printer / copier or directly connected to your computer with a USB cable, and presumably it works as advertised. Prints into good and was easy to set up until I tried to scan something. In my effort to go paperless as possible, several weeks after the printer arrived, I went to check something. It did not work and the instruction manual is not clear at all. I called Canon and they told me that this machine was the "baseline" and not have the capacity asked. If I wanted to scan a network (I do it just by physical distance between the computer and printer to the media via an Ethernet cable instead of USB to connect) should have bought a high-end models of others. Maybe I missed something, but I do not see that important information throughout the product description or on the packaging it came to technique suggested I put my computer on a cart with wheels when I wanted the printer to scan. REALLY! After some time on the phone and different levels of support offered me a backup device that once installed will allow me to scan, but only if I use a PC. Of course, I primarily use a Mac I can not say whether the device works because I have not been able to get the instructions to install and deploy. I had to hang up after a period of time to take hold of a Canon representative. See all 20 customer reviews ....

By Dave Sobasky On the positive side, printed in black very quickly, a bit slower in color (CMYK printer is in four stages, which means that prints cyan, magenta, yellow and black in the individual race or walk), but the quality of color images are fantastic and only limited by the quality of the paper. Analyze acceptably good, not spectacular, but more than adequate for my needs. I have not tried the fax and not give it. There are only two drawbacks that I found: the machine is noisy even when not in use, but has a strong fan that will last a long time (more than 20 minutes), which is sent with what appears to be only a few drops of black toner. If you buy this printer, and a plan to make any number of immediate impression, we need more black toner soon. The toner cartridge that came with it lasted less than a week with moderate use far I love it and recommend it. The printing of it gets five stars, four stars scanner. Other qualities - sound, set up the features - to the overall score to four stars. 13 of 13 people found this review helpful. pleasantly surprised by Olivetti We use this printer in our design office just to complete the ultra-high quality (and ultra slow and expensive) prints from our inkjet printer. I bought this printer to offer speed and economy for everyday printing. The prints are surprisingly good, and fast enough to be a welcome relief from the inkjet printer! There is a little fan noise at times, and scan the network can be a bit slow at the higher resolution. But overall, we are extremely pleased with the printer. We were starting to print full color renderings and drawings, and there is no sign that we are running out of toner. We still do not use for our final, high-gloss photo quality presentations, but use it for all our stuff daily and temporary customer reviews 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Laser printer very good, but just scanning USB for Macs now! By Edward Anastas laser printer generally very good for the price and functionality. The only one out there, I can see. However, if you have a Mac, which is a lot of people ... there is just scanning using USB image capture, or scan any network as it exists from the PC driver. See all 29 customer reviews ....

Polk as part of the Amazon Vine program receive expert, the HP Officejet Pro 8500 is a wireless all-in-one (printer, fax, scanner, copier, Internet) Desktop tool. It uses touch screen technology worked, offer users a way to fax, scan, copy and print without a computer connected directly with him. SET-UP: When I run this beast (it's a bit heavier and larger than my previous printer: HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer) unpacked, it took a few minutes, the contents of the box and untap parts were checked detention in part on the packaging. A very simple step sheet (10) with pictures and minimal guidelines directs how the two print heads, four ink cartridges, install the HP automatic two-sided printing (duplex) and paper. It also shows you to your PC or Mac computers, how to connect the printer via a USB cable, Ethernet (LAN cable) or via a wireless home network (see Getting Started Guide) When you turn on the printer, it takes about 20 minutes to go through a series of checks prior to asking you if you want to 'update'. As I had already established a wireless connection with your printer by following the instructions on the touch screen and enter my home network's security code, I had it do an update that took about 5 minutes. Overall, the 25-30 minute all-in-one spent getting ready for use was no big deal. It took me about 45 minutes to get it set-up prior to that time, and I'm pretty savy about these things. The instructions that come with it heavily dependent on the drawings and had to be referred to frequently - at least for me. So a little over an hour of set-up I have installed the software on my primary computer. It took about 10 minutes. Later, I went to the HP website and have very basic drivers (64 MB download) for the printer to install on 2 laptops (Vista 64-bit and Windows 7), a notebook (Windows XP), two desktop computers (Vista 64 - bit Windows XP) All drivers installed equipment quickly and easily, and once installed a wireless form 8500A. I was surprised ... hic-ups without drivers? I also went to iTunes and has a free application: HP Photo iPrint. Once loaded on the iPod Touch or iPhone can be used to send photos or documents to print to the printer or any HP printer (I'm guessing that other HP printers do not work with this application) connected to the network. We work with the 8500A and 6300 (wired to my router). Among the unboxing, untaping, heads and the installation of printer ink, software all-in-one self-configuration and installation, obtaining a march took about 1.5 hours. This is much longer than most printers I've struggled in the past, but I took my time and slowly worked every step of the unit connected to the 8500A that I had my cell phone: Nokia E71 Unlocked Phone with 3.2 MP camera, 3G, Media Player, GPS with voice guidance Wi-Fi and a microSD slot - U.S. Version with Warranty (White). I tried several times to do it recognize the printer, but so far nothing. I will continue to work on it. FEATURES of the package: + print speed of laser printers (black and 35 ppm 34 ppm - max). + Water-resistant ink. + Wireless Network. 35 page automatic document feeder (ADF) + auto-duplexing saves paper and time 4800 x 4800 dpi color scanning 48-bit application + print on touch screen - printing directly from the Web without a computer + printing from any location via mobile devices using HP ePrint (the printer has its own e-mail addresss) + front panel USB port and memory card slots for digital cameras + fax network, PC and PC-Fax + + Send eco-friendly solution that is 50% lower cost, per page than other comparable all-in-one printers. "What does this all mean?" Ideally, if you have a gift that you have a wireless printer to buy.

Elliott, 22 January was successful and the sentence yesterday evening (28 January). It is too early for me to comment on print quality. What I saw, looks good but I have only four pages printed so far and still you have not tried the duplex unit. I am writing this review to comment on customer support from HP, from a previous comment was a totally negative experience. Some of my relationship with the system of customer service were good and some were bad. I got the printer on a Thursday when I was at work. I could not access it until Saturday. Then I unpacked the printer and remove all protection strips, etc. When I turned it stopped immediately after the memory test with an error message "Pump up a failure. RFU file now. RFU Download the USB port" or tuned close are. I knew I was in difficulties. I went online and found the latest firmware update (RFU = remote firmware update) downloaded and there to my Mac, but I could not figure out how to send it to the printer, because the instructions said to ftp (using Ethernet works connection). This requires knowledge of the printer's IP address, which you probably do not know when the error occurred so early in the startup process. And even if they had, there was no way to find out what it is, because the buttons on the console triggered no response. Also said that using the instructions on the printer display USB. Nowhere in the manual about using the USB, it was a firmware update that is mentioned at all to do. So I made my first call for technical support. It's one of those terrible voice-activated menu systems. It took me several minutes to release my answer as carefully as I could, to finally get transferred to technical support. It was at this point I was told that technical support hours are from 5.00 bis 05:00 clock MF PT and closed on the weekends I was out of business until Monday. Monday I called at 6:15. This time, I was saying how carefully the model number of my CP3525dn, the computer's voice interrupted me. He said he had determined that the printer was no longer under warranty, therefore, was not eligible for telephone support. He told me to use the e-mail system and hung up. If I had not gone further on Saturday, do not know what I would have done at this time. The most likely would have called the company that bought it and ran with it. But since Saturday, I knew that the real problem was the poor quality of his voice-activated system menus. So I tried again and finally, about 6:25, I'm connected to a real human being. The lady I first spoke to was polite and friendly, but obviously working from a script and not very knowledgeable. She worked with me for about 45 minutes. She told me to use USB to download the firmware update. But when I downloaded the file is absolutely nothing happened I had to try many things (restarting my Mac, turning the printer, etc..) Repeatedly put me on hold for 5 minutes or so trying to get help from a second customer service representative. But nothing worked. Finally gave up and moved me into a customer service department, which is defined simply as "hardware". The lady is also nice and helpful and seemed much more knowledgeable. He worked with me for another 45 minutes. He asked a lot of questions and was able to establish that the formatter board (major computer inside of the printer) was defective. He thought it could be a bad connection of the memory module. She spoke to me through the removal of the formatter board from the printer and manipulate it. So I had to re-install the card and try again. The same error appeared immediately. So he promised to send me a ticket Formatter replacement.

Client more useful on 84 of 87 people found this review helpful. not ready for prime time for hiway12 I bought this multifunction laser printer best color scanned because of my good experience with B & W Canon MF4270. My HP large-format color have died, so now I need color and the color of MF had risen in price and size. The installation was fairly easy, although the menus are deep and complicated. just found how to set up an incoming call necessary technical support and I never call tech support. But I felt better when the issue puzzled two technicians. Then the problems started the next morning the machine disconnected from the USB connection after entering the "sleep" mode requires a reboot of the printer. Then I spent two hours a day with Canon technical support, all the days of the receipt printer and could not solve the problem. Then I could not for the original paper, each print job with the set MF requires user input, and I could not print more than one side of something (checks in headers, etc.), because placing more than one sheet in the tray MF causes a "jam" all Canon even clear that it is possible, but in reality it is not working. Canon solution to remove defects requiring contribute directly to the menu and tell me the printer through the media of the type I insertion. Crazy, is not it? You also need to "wake up" to begin the printer for each task, except receiving faxes. It is also very loud, a print job is completed and grinds to a printer and so on. I would say that the color output was excellent. I came back and now have a MFC9320CW brother, who does everything with zero input from me and it is wireless and a few men cheaper. 34 of 35 customers found this review helpful. New Canon Fugly By B. I'm using the MFP is a little easier, by pre-reading reviews and hype from Canon. It takes a while to wake up and is very high, in order to use an envelope that you have to lose by using the LCD menu to fit envelope. Print quality is good, but it definitely has aa while to spit on page 1. I had to turn off the timer standby mode all the way up so you do not take all the time. If you have it on your desktop, wait for it to be noisy. When printing from a network printer that I can not do anything else on the team to finish the job queue, very boring, because nothing in our network MFPs. It is a competitively priced unit at first, but a complete change of toner is 72% of the cost of new equipment. I think I would spend the extra money on a high-end unit, I like our brother MFP, but it was in black and white and we needed a touch of color. 35 of 40 people found this review helpful. So far so good to see A. Bobb 'had this unit about a month. Since it is a new line of Canon support have been a little slow. We are still waiting to learn more, such as legal docs for now I need to copy and cut, by letter, to get all the information without having to scan circumcised. The only other complaint is that while the device works is very high. Fortunately, when the task is completed, it quietly. The color reproduction is better than I see in other units long. Most photo-copies are not more of the original color. The fax printer works well and is as fast and efficiently. As the title suggests, so far so good. See all 13 customer reviews ....
